At Dune Indonesia, the focus is on building real competence through daily, hands-on experience. You are not only completing skills and theory, you are working within an active dive centre, assisting with courses, guiding divers, and learning how dive operations run in practice.
The Divemaster course is the first professional step in diving, moving you from recreational diver to a leader responsible for planning dives, guiding certified divers, and supporting instructors in training.
Divemaster Training
Training begins in Bali, where controlled conditions allow you to develop core skills such as dive briefings, problem management, and group control. You then apply these skills in Nusa Penida, gaining experience in drift diving, currents, and real open water environments. This progression ensures you are prepared for the conditions you will face as a working professional.
By the end of the course, you are not just certified, you are capable of working as a Divemaster in a real dive operation.
Throughout the program, you develop:
-
Leadership and diver management
Dive planning and safety awareness
Problem solving in real scenarios
Professional communication and briefings
Confidence guiding certified divers

The Instructor Development Course is the step from Divemaster to professional educator, preparing you to teach, evaluate, and certify new divers to internationally recognised standards. At Dune Indonesia, the IDC is structured around practical teaching, not just theory. You then apply these skills in Nusa Penida, adapting your teaching to currents, changing conditions, and real student scenarios. This progression prepares you to teach confidently in a working dive centre anywhere in the world.
Throughout the program, you develop:
-
Confident, structured teaching techniques
In-water skill demonstration to instructor level
Student control and risk management
Dive theory knowledge and presentation skills
Professional standards expected of a PADI Instructor
The course also prepares you for the Instructor Examination (IE), with focused workshops, mock exams, and continuous feedback to ensure you meet the required standards.By the end of the IDC, you are not just ready to pass the IE, you are prepared to teach, manage courses, and work as a professional instructor in real conditions.
